Payout Config Issue

Okay, this is now officially getting weird. I just checked my settings page, and it's gone back to BTC payout again. That's the 2nd time today (and 4th or 5th in all) my profile has changed from USD payouts to BTC. The last time this happened, this morning, I deleted the BTC address so it would (hopefully) not happen again. I can change it back at any time, but I'll leave it as it is until I hear from one of the Admin brothers, in case that helps diagnose what in the seven hells of Manilow is going on there.

That's strange. I'll look into this. I don't think there's been a case yet where someone has requested payouts in both dollars and bitcoins, which might explain this issue. There have been cases where people request dollars or dollars and some other coin.

We should be able to get back to you this evening. Sorry for the problem!

Just to be clear, I don't want payment in both. I'd like payment in dollars only. I only added the BTC address hopefully as a failover in case the auto-sell option went sideways.

OK. We'll get you an answer before tonight's payouts execute so that there isn't any effect on payouts.

As far as I can tell, earnings are unaffected, so you should just be able to manually sell the bitcoins you receive as a result of mining today while we're fixing the problem.

By the way, it's good to see someone who is making sense and choosing dollar payouts after this three day period of unfounded euphoria. Everyone thinks that something has changed all of a sudden in the market. While bitcoins have a lot of future potential, I think it's a mistake to be buying at present.

Thank you, sir. While I would like to take credit for holding such an enlightened viewpoint, I'm actually just trying to mitigate my losses at this point. If Frick and Frack (yes, I named my Titans) can maintain their current monthly earnings (which they won't, I know) then I'll break even in about 2 years, and then I can start thinking about hold vs sell.

I've been looking at this and I can't seem to reproduce the issue.

Could you add the dollar payouts back in as 100% of your payouts, and then post back here when the issue recurs? I checked the audit logs and it shows that at 8:45 this morning the dollars were deleted, but nothing since then.

Do you remember what action you took at 8:45 that could have caused the dollar payout to disappear?

Okay, I've switched back to USD and deleted BTC as an option. At 8.45 this morning... I think that would be right around the time I checked from work and noticed that I'd been set to BTC, and changed it back to USD. I'd noticed the same thing, and corrected it earlier this AM, like around 6-ish.

I think I figured this one out. The timing was very helpful.

What is happening is that when the dollar payouts are executing, Coinbase's security generates a new "access token" that needs to be stored in the database. Instead of simply updating the token, six months ago when I designed this I told it to delete the old token and then insert the new one. But when the old token is deleted, everything associated with it, including that payout request for dollars, is lost.

This issue shouldn't be difficult to fix. I'll get it fixed before the payouts execute tomorrow morning so that it doesn't happen again. Thanks for the report; this has been really helpful in getting rid of some difficult-to-find bugs!
