Error in earnings

Post by Chris Sokolowski » Sun Apr 03, 2016 5:01 am

There is an error in the earnings for yesterday, Saturday April 2. The earnings credited to miners is about two times the actual amount earned. I am investigating the cause, but I will need to correct balances to the actual values.

I will guarantee that we will have had 125% LTC profitability yesterday or the actual profitability, whichever was higher. The payouts will be delayed today until I correct the balances, and I will execute the payouts on Sunday afternoon. I apologize in advance, and I will keep everyone updated as I find more information.

I have corrected the balances for April 2. We actually earned 118% LTC, but I am crediting all users 125% LTC for the day.

I apologize for the one-day delay in payouts. All earnings for both April 2 and April 3 will be paid this morning. Thanks for continuing to mine with us!

Are you sure the recalculated amount is correct? The overage amount did look like about twice what I usually make but the recalculated amount was the lowest payment I have seen in a long time. It didn't go down by half it went down by about 2/3 after the recalculation. I am not sure how to tell if it was 125% LTC or what but the last time I made that small of a daily profit was on 2/3/16 and I believe I had less hashrate at that time.

I should point out in case it is relevant that my hashrate graph also shows a gap on the period when the profit went a little crazy but I was mining throughout and the live worker status showed my miners switching coins and mining. There was another shorter hashrate gap later in the day also but again I was mining throughout.

EDIT: I guess I should add that the difference between what I was paid and what I might have been entitled to is not going to be more than a dollar or two at the most (I made $5.58 on the 1st, $3.56 adjusted amount on the 2nd, and $5.35 on the 3rd) so I don't want you to spend too much time investigating for just a couple dollars.

So it looks like I actually did failover during that weirdness on this pool. I just noticed an unexpected payment to one of my BTC addresses and it turns out it was payout from the backup pool for some hashrate I contributed (according to their timeline on the 2nd up until midnight) at any rate they paid me 80 cents so it looks like my prohashing payout plus that are probably about right. One thing though, I seem to recall seeing the live worker status tiles during that period. I check my miners on and off all day and I never saw any disconnect. It was only later after the crazy high earnings that I noticed the gap in my hashrate graph on prohashing but I had checked my miners a few times before that and all looked well.
