Waiting on shares - using PC - CPU/GPU

Greetings!

New to the community (stands up and waves), and was testing things out before I take the plunge in some ASIC hardware, just to tinker.

I've got Easyminer set up, and currently am connected no problem, per the two workers listed in the dashboard

CPU Worker 1
GPU Worker 2

However, both are waiting for shares, and have been for much of the morning. Originally, I selected Proswitching, no joy. However, even when targeting LTC, it still hangs.

In Easyminer, under the password, I am using the variables like this:

a=scrypt,c=litecoin,n=workername,o=Groupname

Even after the Proswitch variables resulted in the same thing:

a=scrypt,n=workername,o=Groupname

I can see Easyminer is using my resources, and my CPU and GPU utilization are high as a Colorado special brownie. I have my payment setup as well, as this just looks like the connection, once established, is unable to merge into the traffic of processing hashes. Any help would be appreciated!

Stay safe!

Unfortunately, the scrypt algorithm has been taken up by ASICs, so your GPU is unlikely to find any shares. If you want to mine scrypt, you should buy an L3+ and attach it to your computer.

With a CPU or a GPU, ethash is a better choice, and is much more profitable. I suggest looking into the ethash or etchash algorithms for mining with CPUs and GPUs.
