Mining return delayed by 24 hours
The return of mining has been delayed by 24 hours, with mining expected to be available around 3PM EDT today. Now that the forums are back online, we will post further updates here.
The delay was caused by Chris being unable to stay awake any longer. He had been awake for about 44 hours and fell asleep before he was able to finish.
A detailed report will be posted soon, but all resources are being put into finishing as quickly as possible right now and no detailed information will be written yet. Currently, the forums, E-Mail, and four out of eight daemon servers are online. Remaining are the other four daemon servers, mining, the share inserters, the website, the API, and the support ticketing system.

7 of the 8 daemon servers are now online, and their blocks have been synchronized. Chris is continuing to work on the last daemon server before bringing the database back online.

Chris expects to have all services resumed within the hour. The final task he's waiting for is the RAID 5 array for the block explorers to rebuild its parity disk, and then everything will be ready to start.

lol there is no dedicated parity disk in raid 5Steve Sokolowski wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 2:02 pm Chris expects to have all services resumed within the hour. Re: Mining return delayed by 24 hours
The data is copying at 40MB/s, and has 200GB remaining. It appears that the hard drives where the copy was stored are the limiter. About 5000s is remaining.
Chris has completed all other tasks, so it's just a matter now of waiting for the hard disks to run as fast as possible to copy the data back onto the array.

The website is back online, and mining will be coming up soon. After everything is tested, Chris is going to go to sleep, and we'll make a detailed post about the process tomorrow!
