Poor block explorer performance today

The performance of the block explorers will be poor for the next 8-12 hours while a "battery reconditioning" is performed on the RAID card that hosts the block explorer data.
Because the battery's capacity needs to be determined by the software, the card took the battery backup offline. With no battery backup, the RAID 5 parity data needs to be computed before every block in the explorers is written to the disk, instead of storing the data in memory immediately and computing the parity data whenever time is available. Therefore, the CPUs delay all the requests for data from the disk, and visits to the block explorer pages require up to 30 seconds to load.
Once the battery has been reconditioned, then the memory cache will be able to be used again, and performance will return to normal.
