Here's today's status:
  • Chris successfully completed the daemon moves and shut down the old daemon server. The database server was restarted last night. It now has 51GB of memory, up from 12GB, and 16 cores, up from 6. Its disks are far less loaded now and there seems to be significant stability improvements.
  • The mining server is putting out huge log files, so I asked Chris to create a RAM disk for those files, to reduce the number of unnecessary writes to disk, further improving disk performance for the database.
  • Blockchain indexing is proceeding at an aggressive pace now. I wouldn't be surprised if all block explorers were caught up and ready for real-time updates by the end of the weekend.
  • I'll have another day off tomorrow, to get more bugfixes and website improvements finished.
  • The website will be out for a few hours tonight while Chris upgrades from Debian 7 to Debian 8, and from Tomcat 7 to Tomcat 8, on that machine. We need Tomcat 8 for search engine optimization, and to simply be on the right path before the old versions become obsolete. Mining won't be affected.
  • Chris apparently fixed many daemons that either were broken after the move, or had never been working correctly, which should increase profitability.
