Here's a brief update today:
  • Chris has all but two coins moved to the other servers. We are now single-threaded indexing the blockchains and have been able to add three coins to the block explorer so far.
  • Once Chris moves the remaining coins, he will briefly restart the database server so that he can increase its cores from 4 to 11, and its memory from 12GB to 52GB. Hopefully, this will be the last service interruption in mining for a while.
  • The next job is to upgrade the website's server to Tomcat 8, so that we can rewrite URLs for search engine optimization.
  • This weekend, I will be focusing on usability enhancements to the website. There are some block explorer issues that can be improved, even if we haven't yet been able to index all the chains by then. One of the features suggested by someone late last year was auto-notification of miners performing suboptimally - is that still wanted? I think someone wanted notification if electricity costs begin to exceed profits. I also plan to link the payouts to the block explorers so that people can click and see their transactions. What graphs should be added to the "earnings" page, if any?

Yes, please. Both of those are excellent ideas.

Agreed... suboptimal performance notifications would be great (I have them already, but you can't have enough tools)...

Another stat I feel would be useful and enjoyable is a breakout of daily block finds (my blocks / all blocks) so I can see what my miners have been up to (what coins, how many blocks, etc.).

Finally, the pool's performance graphed against straight LTC mining profit would underscore the value of mining at prohashing...

Peace,
Rootdude

Yes, definitely. I've been lamenting the missing LTC info on poolpicker.eu ever since it was removed.
