Missing shares to be reimbursed

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Fri Apr 24, 2015 8:56 am

This morning, you'll notice that hashrate declined for a period of several hours. The issue also struck yesterday. At times, kires also described hashrate as being "erratic."

The cause of the problem is that some shares were not inserted into the database because of errors in floating point arithmetic. However, the blocks found as a result of those shares were not lost, so the pool made more money than you earned.

As the policy listed in the documentation states, miners will be made whole for these losses. You can continue mining even though your hashrate might be unstable, because any blocks you find are still being earned by us. After the issue is fixed, Chris will review balances and sometime next week affected miners will be paid the difference. We apologize for the inconvenience as we continue to stabilize the system after the major release that provided support for work restart awareness.
