Here's a brief update of where things stand:
- The network connectivity issues this morning delayed the release, which was originally scheduled at 10:00am, to 10:00pm.
- The cause of the network connectivity issues this morning was that there were more packets than usual for whatever reason, and a default configuration setting caused Linux to delay packets to OpenVPN, which then believed it had disconnected and tried to reconnect. Chris changed the configuration setting so that it could handle more packets. The theory was that there was something with coins at the time that caused larger data to be sent to miners than usual.
- Chris just finished with the share corrections. About $14,000 was credited to miners for the two hours, thirty minutes, and two seconds during which miners were mining. Because miners were not mining during the earlier period of network connectivity issues, no credit was provided for that period, per our policy on pool downtime written in the documentation. Thanks for your patience with this issue, and we hope that Comcast will be ready with the fiber lines soon!
