Maybe stupid question about solo mining

Hi, my miners are in Sweden and Netherlands. Now I wanna mine Newyorkcoin in solo mode. Finding a block can take many hours.

What happens if PH is crashing? Or the live worker status is going back to "Time first share=0:00" My miner had no break!
Is the miner now starting to calculate a new block and takes many hours again or is miner continuing correct work?

My solo mining is often breaking after some hours, is this the distance to pool or how can I avoid it?

My miners are configured correct with m= solo and c=Coin, do I need more values?

What URL do I have to use ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx??

Thank you
:geek:

The target block time for a NewYorkCoin is 30s.
The blocks are usually found within 1 min.
So every minute or less typically you are working to find a new block.

Although it may be taking your miner setup hours to find a single block as a solo miner, it is all in luck.
You could connect to the pool and find a block in your first 30 secs after mining. So if there is a break or a reset, you are not losing hours of work, only the time you are not connected and mining.

Think of it like this, you have a ticket in the lottery, and your ticket never runs out.
Every minute they draw a new winning ticket #. If you are there for the live drawing, and your number matches...YOU WIN!
But if you arent connected or they dont draw your number, you have to keep working and wait for the next drawing when the next block is found to see if you are a winner.
