Some things to note:

- Download the newest firmware (2.0.0) which has BFGMiner 5.1 installed with a number of Titan fixes for faster coins.
- Use stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333/#skipcbcheck and d=8192 when connecting to ProHashing. Gets rid of the errors in BFGMiner console and reconnects when the coin switches faster.

Thanks for posting these tips. We don't have a Titan on hand to test the pool, so any feedback you can provide is helpful. If there is a way that I can change our server to run more optimally with Titans, let me know and I will try to implement the changes.

I've wanted to mine here for quite some time because I love what you guys are doing, but was held back because my rigs would stall after a few minutes and throw unusual errors on the console. The skipcbcheck was the ticket to eliminating the errors and getting the rigs to flush and re-cache on coin switches instead of hanging. There's no doubt in my mind that your approach to mining at a good profit is well beyond the capabilities of every other pool I've mined the last two years (zero day coins with some profitability base set by more mature coins) and I'm happy I was able to overcome the challenges to getting the titans running here. I just received three more Titans today and will be putting them to work in the next day or so. I'm always open to working with you guys via IRC to see if there's further enhancements that can be made, but for now, I'm pleased with what I'm seeing. That trade engine you have on the back end of this pool must be pretty amazing to come through with the kind of results I'm seeing - kudos to you and your brother for allowing us to participate.

Many thanks for your help with the Titan config. It looks like it's working great, and so far it looks like I'll be pointing my other Titan here, too, once my one week comparison between here and straight LTC is finished.

Please let us know what you find out with this pool on a Titan compared to straight LTC. We could use the feedback, since if straight Litecoin mining is more profitable then there's a bug in this pool that needs to be fixed.

Hey Chris - my observations are that it's close. On a straight LTC pool making a good run, LTC can definitely be more profitable esp for titans who have trouble flushing work for quick coin switches. When my pool was here last, the troubling thing I found was a good 10-15 second refreshing of the dies when coin switches are made, meaning my rigs were constantly ramping up during the shorter coin runs (never got up to full speed on coin switches that ran for a few minutes or seconds). While it's good that the pool sends the high DIFF shares now, it may take even my biggest rigs a second or two to send a completed share back, and by then the pool may have switched already, leaving my share or block to orphan.

I'd love to see how extending out coin switches from nearly immediate to maybe 5 minutes would do for the rigs and the profitability.

Have you tried using a password of c=litecoin? That will limit you to mining only litecoins.

Since your Titans have problems with coin switches, it's possible that you could actually make more money mining straight litecoins. Alternatively, you could do something like c=wildbeastbitcoin or c=monacoin, which are extremely difficult coins that often have better profitability than litecoin.

if he was to do the above and point his rigs at a certain coin, do you as the pool payout on the $$$ per mhs for that coin on blocks found or on the groups total $$$ on coins found

Gotta assume that if I'm not mining it, I'm not getting paid for it I don't want to put any burden on my fellow miners having them cover the deficiencies in my rigs to switch coins quickly.

It's hard to track the $/MH for my rigs here because of the severe dips in hashrate that occur during coin switches and work restarts, but I have about half my hash power mining straight LTC, and that will help me judge if the hashrate drops mining here really adversely affect the profitability. Eyeballing it after the last 24 hours, it seems like the payouts are keeping up with straight LTC mining - I'm hoping that the work Chris is doing with the new coins and trading against LTC paired coins is going to boost it a bit.

Chris - one thing - I know we are merge mining DOGE with LTC here... there are at least a few pools (GMC and Coinotron merging VIA, ULTC). If you were to implement those additional merged mined coins on LTC, and only switch from that to take advantage of big pumps (>10%) eliminating much of the switching for just those that mine LTC, we could certainly do better than just LTC and get a much cleaner experience for the big rigs, no?

I'm just trying to come up with some alternate ideas... Thoughts?

This is correct. If you select to mine one coin, you get paid for that coin. But for some miners, you can actually make more if work restarts are a problem.

I'll address the issue of merge mining multiple coins in the "Development" forum soon.
