This isn't my miner I'm just trying to help someone.

They were testing solo mining and coincidentally found a bitconnect coin block. I don't think they were expecting anything and did not have a bitconnect wallet setup at that time. It found the block yesterday at noon CST, he created and added the wallet a few hours ago. Will he still be able to claim the block reward?

Yes, if it is credited and it matured, if it was orphaned then no payout for that block.

And by solo mining he had m=solo as part of the password and c=bitconnectcoin right?
If he only had c=bitconnectcoin then he wasnt solo mining, he was pool mining a static coin and the block would have been split by everyone pool mining that coin at the time.

Correct, he had c=bitconnectcoin m=solo. Could you clarify what credited and matured means? Looks like it was orphaned since we can see in the history there's tx id with confirmations.
