Hi there guys at PH.

Your pool appears to be offline and none of my miners are connected. Can you please verify and confirm if this issue is now being looked into?

Kind regards

Peter

Would appreciate if you can confirm how long this will take to fix and whether we will qualify for the 15% bonus

I was of the understanding this was a professionally ran pool... twice in 48 hours its been down now. The thing that sold prohashing to me was it was the most profitable scrypt pool that will auto change blockchains for most profit. Well if its down for more than 3 hours a day then its not the most profitable.

In their defense, it *is* normally well dealt with, including bonuses for any downtimes - it's just that the brothers are out of town for the weekend (Wedding to attend) and the tech brother is sick with a virus. Sort of a "perfect storm" of stuff. I moved off the pool for now, but after they get things straightened out I'll come back to it.

Call me a conspiracy theorist.. but I think another pool is attacking Prohashing as they knew the admins would be out of town based upon forum posts.

I apologize for the problem. We're not sure what happened, but I restarted the mining server, as I did last night. Chris will investigate the issue shortly.

no, you do not get bonuses for downtime, dont spread this rumor. the only time youre paid in lieu of service is if the miner solved shares but shares were not recorded and paid out.

It's not just an occasional outage. I'm constantly finding my hashrate dropping to zero for no good reason. No problems with good old litecoinpool.org however. I run there for a week solid, no drops. Eventually they'll fix the problems or be supplanted by another more reliable option. All we can do is stay nimble and have a backup.

I mean, if you like making 25%+ less, just so you don't have to worry about the pool going down, then good for you?

The pool would have to be down for 8 hours or more for you start making less at prohashing vs litecoinpool. Not to mention the fact that you should have a backup, so, lets say you have litecoinpool as your backup (as i do). Lets say it was down for 8 hours, and that was exactly the cutoff from what you'd make at litecoinpool for the whole day. Then you spent that 8 hours at litecoinpool, right? So that's 100% of the profit you'd make at litecoinpool from porhashing, then you made another 25% of what you would make at litecoinpool, at litecoin pool. In other words, you made 125% of what you'd make at litecoinpool, by working at prohashing for 75% of the time, and litecoinpool for 25% of the time.

If the pool was up the whole time, at prohashing, you'd still have made more then the pool being down for 8 hours and having to mine at litecoinpool, but pools go down.

The fact remains, if you choose you want to mine at something that is 25%+ less profitable, 100% of the time, all so you won't have to worry about something that your machine should do for you (backup pool) automatically, that's a pretty messed up way of thinking.

And these are extremes, i haven't seen the pool be down for 8 hours before.

And if you don't understand what is being talked about here, with the 25%+, litecoinpool has their own calculator.

Per litecoinpool's own calculator, my L3+ machine should be making $14.31 (0.25249219 LTC)

My last payout was from prohashing was $18.46 (0.31926460 LTC)

That's about 29% more i made from prohashing, even though there was a hickup, and i had made 0.01675395 LTC (about $1) from litecoin pool.

So basically, in total, for the entire day i made just under $20, whereas if i had mined only and completely at litecoin pool, i would have made under $15.

So where is the logic to use a service that pays you less just so you don't have to worry about the pool going down and defaulting to your 2nd or 3rd backup pool? ... right, there isn't any.

My bad, didn't mean downtime, meant share issues. I know what I meant... damned keys typed wrong word!
