observed behavior.

When the accounts opened I grabbed 3 for relatives, don't fret I'm just giving them some of my miners to use/have so the worker numbers won't jump up more than I am already adding to the system, and Im not scalping or selling them. This way they each have access to their own setups.

So I decided to try some testing, and assign equal numbers of miners to each account, each with different settings to see how they would react.

only one of the new accounts along with mine would show up as ALIVE, the rest using the newly made accounts showed up as DEAD.
I was able to swap the DEAD miners back to valid usernames and then they would see prohashing site as ALIVE and mine under those accounts.

So my question is, has the connection problems somehow been related to accounts, or some limit on accounts? Is there some alloted variable that has now been reached, only 500 username alloted slots per letter of the alphabet? and having over that many means other users with that same letter starting cant connect? or just some of the newly made accounts havent been totally verified yet and thats why only 1 of the 3 works for now and the other issue of people not able to connect was unrelated? You have a list of how many workers we have on....could we add how many accounts that represents? 1930 accounts using 5402 workers doing xxxxx hash.

if we find we can never get past 2000 active accounts logged in at a time, or some other blocking limit it may help fix the issue.

ok it gets even wierder, I now have a situation where some miners dont see the site no matter what valid or invalid username I use they see it as DEAD.
While I have other miners on the same system working just fine seeing the site as up and ALIVE.

Ive done a reboot now ill have to go down and hard reset it and see if that connects them.

How many miners per account are we talking here? I have never had issues but only have 2 L3's. However, I am familiar with the name change to correctly see the pool tweak/fix and personally have encountered this glitch once.

Miles888,Im not talking about miners per account, more how many accounts connected make that many miners.

**WHAT IF** only 1000 accounts MAX can connect at a time. you have 2 miners, if everyone only had 2, then 2000 miners. some only have 1, while others have a few. It might be interesting to find out, of the 5000 miners online it only comes from 600 accounts being logged in at once. What if there is a MAX CURRENT ACCOUNT limit in place, the reason others cant connect at times, they are the 601st person account to try to connect and mine.

------------------------------
So even a hard reset on the L3+ miners wouldn't get a few of them to show prohash as ALIVE and minable. I had to reboot the switch and the router to clear everything and then with valid usernames it worked, tested it first on the 2 accounts it wouldnt connect in on and they still cant, but after switch, router and unplugging of power were able to connect on valid accounts that worked originally. Glad I have access to my whole setup for when I need to reset and power cycle components.

So miners back up on the 2 valid accounts, 2 other accounts wont connect to, shows as DEAD if those accounts are used. The middle one works and the first and last accounts still wont work. I can log in with usernames and passwords for all the accounts and see earnings pages, and set settings, but using 2 of the accounts the L3 miners show the site as DEAD, while using 2 other accounts its ALIVE and works fine.

so account issue not connection issues?

Connecting from the same IP on all 3 accounts?

yep all the miners in the same rack on the same switch on the same router and ISP.

A thought, Steve can maybe confirm if correct or not...He mentioned the other day about the new accounts and same IPs...Maybe it's flagging the IP? Again, just a thought

Im beign disconnected aswell, oftne happens by me changing a setting, but can happen randomly and then it takes all from minutes to hours or half a day to connect back. By this, may i say very diligent work, you have narrowed the problem down for the brothers and i now hope we can se some solution to it soon.

So you are saying I could not host a data site for 4 friends and each of them run 4 machines out of my data center?
because they would all have the same IP going to 4 different accounts?

yeah that doesn't sound very likely. But even if so, I can use either of 2 accounts and it works fine, the other 2 show the site as DEAD.
So its something about making workers or using a worker name already in place or spawning new instances of workers, or the accounts are inactive, but the one that does work was made 2nd in order. The first and last accounts don't work but the middle one does so that sorta rules our validation of accounts in order of them made as why some work and some wont connect/show as DEAD. There are holes poked all over in any kind of theory I can come up with based on what i've seen.

No, not saying its what's going on...hence the "again, just a thought" :).
