System offline

I took the system offline.

The database failed with a "multi-xact wraparound" error. This error occurs when vacuuming isn't completed often enough. The vacuum process wasn't completing because of database overload, which occurred because too many miners joined the pool over the past few days. The resolution involves not only fixing the problem, but also more performance improvements. We had just gotten the CPU under control and now it's the database.

I'm getting in contact with Chris to see what, if anything, can be done about this error short of a full recovery from backup. He will update everyone later this afternoon on his progress.

The trans id wraparound really came into play eh? can you raise it to a 64 bit unsigned??? What was it beforehand?

Renting a server would not solve anything. The issue is not hardware related. You will have databases on rented servers as well. It is inevitable with evil SQL.

i think by rent a server he means rent a service.. when prohashing IS a service you cant really hire a service to run your shit tey'd just be part of the company.

Because renting a server that holds thousands and thousands of dollars in crypto currency is a freaking horrible idea
