How do I you see the temperature? On my software the temperature box is blank. Also what are your rejects looking like. Thanks

PS Oh wait I just found temperature..LOL Here is what I am running right now I was running 810. I am going to go down to 805 for a bit

STATS ID Elapse TEMP(AVG) TEMP(SOLO)
0 BA20 7h 37m 13s 2 45.00 45
0 1 BA21 7h 37m 13s 3 44.00 44
0 2 BA22 7h 37m 13s 4 46.00 46
0 3 BA23 7h 37m 13s 5 44.00 44

I wonder if the temperature is running high because the fan is pulling air instead of pushing it through the miner
Hi Critterdog, those temps dont look that crazy. One of the units I have seem to have some temp issue, but one should be able to push them quite a bit higher than 45c. Maybe reduce the voltage slightly.
I have now been running with those settings I wrote about earlier for about 4.5 hours. So far it looks very good, much more stable and they are not "falling like flies". Would need some more time to confirm though. Will update the group later tonight.
Those temps were when I was set on 16384 h=50, v805.. Now I am at 8192 h=40 and after 1 hour 15 mins 800mv
I am at
0 BA20 1h 15m 28s 2 52.00 52
0 1 BA21 1h 15m 28s 3 51.00 51
0 2 BA22 1h 15m 28s 4 53.00 53
0 3 BA23 1h 15m 28s 5 50.00 50

I am going to try and get the temps down a bit.. On a good note running at 8192 my restart is down to .47 and it will get below a second set on 16384 but anything higher the restarts stay above 1 sec..

Also the lower temps were at night out in the garage it was pretty cold so those numbers are prob not a good example.. Now in midday I am up in the 50 range even at 16384 800v... I tried to go down to 790v but one card would not start hashing.

Don't worry about the restart times. Concentrate on stability instead; right now, the restart times aren't making a significant difference in profitability anyway.

After running now for a couple of days most machines seems to "fall off". I am not sure what to do. Trying to reboot them now, I guess they will go back up.

Did you try running that machine on Dev, so we could rule out that the difficulty switching was the cause?

If you email me the details I will do that now.

I sent the details in another E-Mail, but I don't have access to re-forward it right now.

However, I'll make sure that Chris sends them to you, or I'll do it in a few hours when I get home.

I don't know if this behavior is specific to the Prohashing pool. I have my A4 pointed at Litecoinpool since I powered it up for the first time last night. And I am seeing the same behavior on Litecoinpool. You first start the miner it takes off like a shot up in the 280-290mhs range then starts to decline and keeps declining. Mine finally looks like it has settled in at around 240-250mhs. I am thinking about pointing it to Prohashing here in a few minutes to see how my earnings compare between Litecoinpool and here.

So the problems reported here may not be this pool, it may be behavior of the A4 that we will need some firmware updates to rectify.

UPDATE: I have been running for a little over an hour on Prohashing and the behavior appears to be far worse here than on Litecoinpool. I will watch for a short while longer before I move the miner back to Litecoinpool. Right now it looks like one of my hashing boards is not getting any of the hash rate, however it has not fallen off the miner yet. Just watching to see if it starts to pick up some of the load or dies.

Thanks for the information that the hashrate drops on both pools. That info helps a lot because having a slight hashrate drop on Litecoinpool indicates that we aren't forgetting to do something that Litecoinpool does. It confirms that the problem is the different characteristics of difficulty and restarts on our pool compared to Litecoinpool.

You said that one of your hashing boards does not get any work. KnC Titans are very similar in that they take a long time to propogate work to all their chips. This behavior is the reason we originally introduced the work restart time. This leads me to believe that our work restart time calculations are underestimating the work restart times of A4s. I want to look at the shares the miner submitted. Was that miner the only miner on your account? If not, did you assign that worker a name?

We are testing with tradewiz a change on the development server to see if the problem is indeed a difficulty switching issue. We'll let you know as soon as we have results.
