Thanks for the info! That will help a lot.

As I mentioned in the chat, we were removed from poolpicker.eu and decided not to request relisting because we believe the site is flawed. First, they rely on self-reported data instead of mining at the pools themselves, and some pools were not being honest; I don't know whether that's still true or not. The problem that definitely still persists is that they do not standardize the timeframe for earnings. One pool's day might run on UTC time, and another on Chinese time, and here we run on Eastern time. Even if all the self-reporting is accurate, they still don't enforce a standard timeframe. I would be careful about assuming that zpool is more profitable without mining there first. But if they are, then it is possible that they might have a better algorithm or different coins - we can solve that problem.

What I'm interested in is with litecoinpool. Thanks a lot for that information. A miner with 600MH/s would have expected to earn $12.60 here yesterday. If you earned $2 more at litecoinpool, then that implies that the profitability rate there was 18% higher, so that helps us with the numbers. Since we are earning about 3% more than LTC, the math indicates that they are paying 15% above LTC. I still don't understand how that is possible - merge mining doesn't add 15% to earnings. Perhaps someone can comment with a theory. Are they purposely losing money to pay customers above LTC?

That $2 is an old estimate, I did a check a while ago and that was about it. Here are two examples from now at litecoinpool.

speed 24 hrs 24hrs
1
605.9 MH/s 573.4 MH/s 0.0583 Ł
2
643.5 MH/s 626.1 MH/s 0.0637 Ł
.....
A quick average and division check and your at $12.74 yesterday and $12.13 today. Litecoinpool is at $12.19 for last 24 hrs.
That doesn't consider the few 450 mhs handicapped miners I have at litecoinpool and there are several l3+ overclocked at only 570 mhs as apposed to all 620-670 at PH pool. (Currently showing 660)

My math could easily be off too since I am tired. It is all average with varying miners.

ALSO there seems to be a problem with blocks not maturing today since 9am and some connectivity issues right now.

So, from what you're writing here, if we hit $12.13 and litecoinpool was at $12.19 yesterday, then the difference is negligible. Despite that, we made some adjustments to be less conservative in our pricing, so that should give about two more percent today.

As to the connectivity issues, I wish they were as easy to solve as the money issues. I'm going to write what Chris found about that in a different post.

Your not reading the facts Steve. I am running about 10%+ more hash to get 6 cents less. Far from negligible!

Actually all 6 of my miners at PH pool are running 660 I believe. There might be one at 620, Average of all miners at Litecoinpool are about 600.
So yeah 10% more to earn less. Go figure~

Are you running more miners here, or are you running the same number of miners but they display a lower hashrate?

This is an important difference. We know that the same miner that is mining at two different pools will display different hashrates because of how coins are switched. We account for that in deciding how to assign people to coins, and only reassign when the gains will exceed the switching losses.

I have 10 Antminer L3+ that have been mining here at prohashing for a couple of months now. To test compare payouts, I switched 5 Antminer L3+ over to litecoinpool and kept 5 here at prohashing. Average hashing speed at each pool is essentially the same - around 2500 GH/s

The 5 Antminers at litcoinpool have paid more LTC per day - around +0.02 LTC more per day. At today's LTC price, it's around +$4 more per day at litecoinpool. If I had all 10 Antminers at litecoinpool, that would have been $8 more/day (2x $4) - or around +$240 more per month at today's LTC price. It is disheartening that I'm actually losing profits by mining here at prohashing.

Last 2 days worth of payouts:
prohashing 0.23667927 LTC / litecoinpool 0.25666751 LTC
prohashing 0.23861311 LTC / litecoinpool 0.26142053 LTC

I'm going to keep the price comparison going until Sunday. If during this time period litecoinpool has paid out more LTC than prohashing, I'll be switching all 10 Antminers to litecoinpool.

In that case, I'm stumped. What you are reporting is far above base LTC earnings.

But we know that litecoinpool only mines litecoins and merge-mined coins. Since during that day we earned something like LTC + 3%, that means they earned LTC + 12%. Even with the 2% I obtained by optimizing other coins besides litecoins, there is still a large gap that isn't explained by fees or other conditions.

I wonder if there is a merge-mined coin out there that we don't know about. That could explain why litecoinpool could pay that. I'll look into that over the weekend.

my own (old) experience with zpool is that it oscillates in profitablity a lot. sometimes really good, sometimes bad. less consistent.
but, that was last year.
i want to like zpool since we're both in the same country :)
