Discussion of development releases of Prohashing / Requests for features
Forum rules
The Development forum is for discussion of development releases of Prohashing and for feedback on the site, requests for features, etc.

While we can't promise we will be able to implement every feature request, we will give them each due consideration and do our best with the resources and staffing we have available.

Here's a few quick points, since I want to spend the day working on issues rather than writing:
  • I think I narrowed down all the seemingly unrelated problems to the network connectivity issues. We're going to restart today to release some additional fixes to recover from network disconnects, which will make the system more resilient.
  • OpenVPN is crashing periodically, which makes us think that it might be causing some sort of issue while it's online. The DDoS attacks in July caused us to have to create such a complex network architecture that it's difficult to figure out which router or VPN connection is wrong. As before, we aren't working on these problems actively because it's like chasing ghosts that may go away if we decide to expand and purchase better service. Instead, we're focusing on other problems and we will come back to these problems later so that we don't waste days on them.
  • The situation with the evaluation remains unchanged. It's likely we'll need to delay another week while we await the lawyer's reply, so we hope to be able to make an announcement before mid-October. We can't do anything until we hear from the lawyer, so until then we'll be trying to keep on top of the customer support tickets and spending as much time as possible on the weekends dealing with the problems.
  • There are a few suggestions that we should close registrations again. The current issues aren't being caused by the number of users and CPU usage is low. Network problems are the main cause of the issues.
