A solid state disk in the forums server has started to develop unrecoverable read errors due to its having run out of writes. The errors require several seconds for the data to be returned.
Chris ordered a replacement that will arrive on December 30. Until then, the forums server may have response times as long as 10 seconds when it encounters these errors. Chris made a backup of the database in case the forums crash.
Mining is not affected by this issue.
