That $0.064 per Kwh seems really low for NZ! That's a great rate even in Eastern Washington where we have cheap hydroelectric.
I'm paying $0.09 NZD per Kwh plus $14 NZD per day line charges and I converted the Kw rate into USD as thats the lingua franca of these forums. I did make a mistake though, I forgot GST so after adding 15% it's more like 0.075 USD. I'm in the beautiful south, big mountains, lots of lakes and lots of Hydro power :)

I'm hoping that when I get to 100Kw I'll get it even lower via a 1/2 hr metered spot rate service, especially overnight.

PS: that's 230v too.

It's dead simple, and I'd be happy to flash anyones card for free if you get into a bind CritterDog, but you'd need to send it to me in NZ. I've emplored Chloe and Dominique not to forget the smaller A4 buyers and commission some geographically dispersed engineers to reflash the cards on Inno's behalf rather than send new MCU's to be re-soldered as that seems way too risky. I know they're listening as they've been in contact with Lightfoot and Longsnowsm so just contact them and let them know you're looking for a solution and hang in there and I'm sure they'll come through for you.

Here's some shots of the jig. It's a single button push and then flip the switch to perform a diagnostic and perhaps a checksum. All I know is that the LED goes on for 5-7 seconds and then goes off. https://www.flickr.com/photos/vinylwasp ... 783247635/

I wonder if it might be more feasible for you to flash all the users around you and then when no more demand for your services ship the unit to someone in the USA that can do the work for users in the USA? You figure there will only be a small amount of people that live in NZ that need the service. Just a idea

Peoples, please think about this -> more A4 bugs + less support from factory = more scrypt profitability.

So its good for all, if the A4 bugs never get fixed :D

I've been in discussions with Chloe at Inno and I know they're trying to find more than 1 person to perform the firmware upgrade in the US so as to minimize shipping between coasts. They probably need a couple of people in the UK and Europe as well and there's a new post on the Group Buy thread on BitcoinTalk that outlines that a Canadian group buy already have a jig on the way to them. It sounds like they're co-coordinating shipping the jig to each member of the group buy themselves and this may be the hurdle at the moment for the US group buy.

I just finished mine today so I'll ask Chloe what I should do with it now and see where they want it sent to. It seems purpose built so I doubt it can be re-used for different firmware so there might not be any point hanging onto it.

Nah, bugs are expected and now seem to be resolved so technology marches on and Moore's Law can be seen with clarity when it comes to mining economics.

Profits will improve once the owners of earlier generation miners finally loose hope of a diff decline and/or a price surge and retire their uneconomic equipment and consign them to scrap. At this point in time we might loose a few hundred Ghs from the scrypt hashrate if we're lucky and diff will drop a little across all coins.

It will take a while for the squeeze to become apparent but it will happen as it has with generations of BTC miners. Keep an eye on eBay after Xmas there will be plenty of Scrypt miners for sale.

Which reseller are selling those A4's? What I understood is the badge3 delivery should work here?

I'm a long way away from 100Kw @ ~33Kw - maybe I should ship my Titans to you for colo and see if that gets you over the line!

Hope your machines are covered by earthquake insurance! However, can't argue with the beauty of the South Island and Otago Pinot Noirs.

Officially, the only place to buy them is direct from Innosilicon, and you need to buy a minimum of three. Check Chloe for their latest price, they did have a 'sale' on. There's also a 2nd group buy being organised on BitcoinTalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1523298.1120
