Re: Solo Mining Multiple Coins - How to Get Payout in Mined Coins with No Conversions
For the month of December, there are currently 10 unique users who have used solo mining at least once, and 4 of them are using it regularly. Since we fixed some bugs related to solo mining a few days ago, I'm curious to see if that number increases.

How many unique users, or another other metric, using solo mining would be a considered a success for you to increase investment?Chris Sokolowski wrote:For the month of December, there are currently 10 unique users who have used solo mining at least once, and 4 of them are using it regularly. I can't give you an exact number of users because we don't choose what we do based upon an absolute number of users. When we decide what to add to the pool, our order of priorities is based upon the relative frequency of user requests. We're working on multiple algorithms because it has been the most requested feature for a while. After we get that out, we'll survey the userbase and see what the next most wanted feature is. If it's improvements to solo mining, then we'll work on that next. What would you want to see added to solo mining?

Yesterday I solo mined 32 blocks of moneycoin but only got credit for 30? Each mining session I lose a few blocks. The day before I mined moneycoin around 6 different times, each time a few blocks were not paid out so I lost about 12 blocks total.
Last two days this has been a problem. can you check my account?

While I appreciate you're customer driven, how do you measure success internally? All requests have costs for labor & resources and I'm curious what metrics you use to determine if your expenditure of work had the desirable return.Chris Sokolowski wrote:I can't give you an exact number of users because we don't choose what we do based upon an absolute number of users. It's really hard to determine what constitutes a success since we have such a diverse userbase and work in a volatile industry. Most of the time the effects of whatever changes we make are obscured by the effects of markets conditions such as new mining hardware and price changes. We do our best to measure the number of users and pool earnings in the weeks after a given change and adjust plans accordingly.
Whenever we have an idea, we consider the earnings of the users requesting the change, potential for new customers, the amount of our effort required for the change, the potential to alienate existing customers, and the potential increase in income from those changes, but given all else equal, we will work on the change requested by the most people. Which is the reason why, for example, our statistics are very imprecise for small (<10 MH/s) miners despite us having quite a few of those users. We could fix it, but it would take too much time for not much additional income.
