Discussion of development releases of Prohashing / Requests for features
Forum rules
The Development forum is for discussion of development releases of Prohashing and for feedback on the site, requests for features, etc.

While we can't promise we will be able to implement every feature request, we will give them each due consideration and do our best with the resources and staffing we have available.

Here's today's update:
  • Yesterday's release seems to have completed successfully. The concurrency issues have been resolved, so now the charts on the front page are remaining in sync with the actual balances. There are still a few more places where the displays might be slightly off the actual statistics, and we hope to get those fixed by Wednesday.
  • Merge mining is now enabled. The first blocks we mined were orphaned, because we had not configured the daemon-network-management system to always provide upload bandwidth to the dogecoin network. daemon-network-management is a program we designed to throttle daemons that are not being mined, because otherwise they would saturate even a 100Mbps uplink. Later, the blocks were accepted.
  • The amount displayed in the top bar was below what miners are actually earning, because Chris forgot to test that the number was correct. That was fixed, but because the number is a moving average, expect it to increase throughout the day.
  • Next up is multiple exchanges. I hope that we'll have that working within two weekends. Multiple exchanges will allow us to get better prices for coins we already have, and will allow us to mine more coins. The code for multiple exchanges is about 90% complete and should be finished by Wednesday, to be followed by 1.5 weeks of testing.
  • I'd also like to do some things with electricity usage later in November, because we have all this data and aren't displaying it. We can produce reports that analyze the energy efficiency of mining and even try to extrapolate how much energy certain coin networks are using. We could also provide a means to export an Excel spreadsheet with energy consumption figures for personal analysis.
