Reduction in work restarts after database upgrade
While working on multiple algorithms last night, I discovered a flaw in the system that causes work restarts to be sent to users too frequently. We were calculating the possible profit gained from merge mined coins as if there will never be a new merge mined block before the primary block is found. In reality, there is some probability that the merge mined coin will become stale again even after we issue a work restart.
As a result, the profit to be gained from a restart just for a merge mined coin is lower, and therefore we shouldn't be sending as many work restarts for merge mined coins. The incorrect implementation reduced profitability, especially for miners with high work restart times.
This issue was backported to the single algorithm release and it will come online after the database upgrade is completed tomorrow.

Just curious on this upgrade if it will improve the pages loading properly? Lately my earnings segment will not load and my list of miners also not loading. Everything else seems ok.. Thanks

Is this loading problem after you refresh the page or does it initially work and then stop working after the page has been open for a while? Also, what browser are you using?

Re: Reduction in work restarts after database upgrade
I have always used Opera browser on this pool with this sort of problem only a few times and after I reported it was fixed.Chris Sokolowski wrote:Is this loading problem after you refresh the page or does it initially work and then stop working after the page has been open for a while? Now I tried Chrome with the same results.
It happens on log in. Does not matter if I refresh. Everything loads up except the list of miners box and the list of coins mined box. and also the live update box. Seems like its anything that is moving or changing is not loading. It just says I have zero miners and no coins listed or anything that moves.
I am using version Opera 40.0 and OSX 10.12 Sierra.
It seem to happen after I upgraded to OSX 10.12 Sierra about a week ago
UPDATE: If I use Safari the items above load but the black strip that runs across the top is to wide

Still testing the reduced word restart times with my Titans, but it seems substantial and the differential between Nicehash & Prohashing had been 5%, I believe mostly due to work restarts.
It appears that it has dropped below 3%.

That's great to hear! Since NiceHash is paying about 8-10% less, that means that we're clearly making more money than NiceHash.excelerator wrote:Still testing the reduced word restart times with my Titans, but it seems substantial and the differential between Nicehash & Prohashing had been 5%, I believe mostly due to work restarts.
