Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered on Track for 2024 Release

The highly anticipated remaster of Grasshopper Manufacture's cult classic, Shadows of the Damned, is progressing smoothly towards its 2024 release window. This conclusion is supported by the recent acquisition of an ESRB rating for the game, officially titled Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered.

Originally released in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game was a collaborative effort between Grasshopper Manufacture and Electronic Arts, helmed by the visionary director Suda51. Despite creative differences between Suda51 and EA, the game has garnered a dedicated fanbase over the years, with even the director expressing newfound appreciation for the title.

In 2021, Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51 reacquired the distribution rights from EA, leading to the surprise announcement of a remaster. The project was officially unveiled as Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered at PAX East 2024, where a playable demo was showcased. While a specific release date has yet to be confirmed, the game is slated to launch sometime in 2024.
