Thanks for your patience while I updated the mining server, which required a few restarts. The changes have been applied successfully.
The only noticable change at the moment is that the live profitability on the charts page has been made more accurate. Previously, it was underreporting profitability.
Behind the scenes, I have been replacing coin wallets, which caused them to go into error. As we find blocks, more and more transactions get inserted into each wallet.dat, making the coin daemon respond slower, resulting in higher orphanage rates and reduced profitability. I have replaced the wallets of 13 coins; all of these wallets were between 50 MB and 150 MB. Creating new wallets will cause the orphan rates of these coins to decline, improving profitability.
Over the next day, I will be testing and releasing selfish mining. This will be done on a coin-by-coin basis, since each individual coin needs to have its source code altered and recompiled to enable the submission of chains of blocks. Steve will provide more technical details on what was changed, but overall, selfish mining will also reduce orphan rates and improve profitability.
I'm sure you'll like the new features; I don't know of anyone who doesn't like making more money. We'll keep you updated as we enable the features. Thanks for mining with us!
