Yes. It's unlikely that you'll be able to find any SHA-256 shares with a GPU or CPU, given that ASICs are about 1 million times more powerful.

Re: -5% PPLNS bitcoin mining fee for this round!
Question: I set my S19j Pro configuration and it wiped out the settings when I entered the password parameters: c=bitcoin m=pplns
ADDRESS: stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3335
MINER NAME:
PASSWORD: c=bitcoin m=pplns
It does say my algorithm is: SHA256d
Any ideas? It will error and say "Uncommon Code" and reset my 3 pool settings.
Thank you!

I'm not sure what the "miner name" field on that miner does, but shouldn't your Prohashing username be entered there?
Re: -5% PPLNS bitcoin mining fee for this round!
Yeah. I just wanted to keep that private. I should have said. So if I use that address and my name, everything works fine. If I add the parameters to the password field just as above, it errors out. Very weird, because it is a brand new machine and works fine. For some reason it doesn't like passing those parms...

Here is My password argument that works fine I think your missing commas, ignore the O and i arguments
c=bitcoin,n=199EssNine,o=SHATOWN,m=pplns,i=t9+
c=bitcoin,n=199EssNine,o=SHATOWN,m=pplns,i=t9+
