PPLNS and Blocks

Post by CactusJab » Wed May 26, 2021 1:03 am

Good morning or Evening.
I saw today on "Mining Pool Stats" that Prohashing found an Ethereum block after 3 days of searching.
During that 3 days I was mining PPLNS .

2 questions:

1.) I was not paid out any share of that block reward. Was it solo mined?

2.) "Block reward for ETH = 2.0 but the Prohashing mining page says Block reward = 6.36988694 ETH - What does this mean?
- as the picture shows below-

Please shine some light on this experience and educate an old teacher.

Thank you for your time

The block wasn't found via PPLNS. You can tell because there are no completed rounds in your screenshot. So it was either found via PPS or solo.

Etherium block rewards adjust based on fees. so the block reward in this case is 06.369~ you have submitted 0.2003% of the 3.865 Petahash towards the block. If it was found right now you would get 0.01275712 Etherium. HOwever you are currently at 200% luck, and on average need to wait until the total difficulty gets closer to the block difficulty amount or 100% luck.

I see.
I guess I assumed PPS and PPLNS were sharing. SOLO is obviously SOLO.
I made this picture after i hit my head on the wall and the image came to me. Does this look correct?

Now it seems obvious. Just because we are all in the same mine (pool) does not mean we are working in the same tunnel

Thank you for the Answer and the education :-) @Alynn

Now where is that PPLNS block hiding?
