RandomX Proswitching

Post by ToeKnee » Sun May 23, 2021 11:07 am

Hey all. I don't know much about a pool named "MoneroOcean," but it seems to implement the same logic as Prohashing in general by auto-switching coins possible on the RandomX algo to other more profitable coins. They have their own mining program. Anyhow, the question. I am sending a little bit of RandomX to Prohashing with Proswitching ... on the Prohashing side of things, does Prohashing mine other coins on the RandomX algo than XMR, e.g., should any other RandomX coin be more profitable than XMR ? Thanks, just asking.

I haven't heard of this coin before, but I'll take a look at it.

It would require to implement different algos. AFAIK only Monero uses rx/0 (default RandomX algo), others are variants or completely different ones, i.e. Cryptonight V2, Argon2id, AstroBWT, but yeah, in general it would be great to have this implemented into proswitching.

https://xmrig.com/docs/algorithms - there are algos implemented into xmrig, which moneroocean.stream pool is using. They also have dedicated XMRig version with 0% dev fee.
