Chia and the Pool

Post by Alynn » Thu May 20, 2021 11:11 am

No it's not a 1980s sitcom.

I've been researching Chia, and I was curious on how the pool implementation would work here. I understand the concepts but the information I'm reading on the payouts and things seem counter to how things are done here, especially in PPS.

Is there any insight that you can give into how this will be implemented? If it is too early I understand.

We don't know yet ourselves, because the specification for Chia pools hasn't been released.

Bram Cohen planned to release it on May 17, but it was delayed.

Ah Ok, that is probably where I got confused. I wasn't going to dig deep into that part of it (because I didn't need to know), and I had the 17th on my mind.

Well I have 10TB of storage just sitting here on my NAS I may just need some temp storage. my 3900xt should be pretty hefty overall. I just need more specifics as pool mining may need something different.

Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately I wish I could help, but we simply don't know anything at the moment. We'll keep you updated, though.
