corgi

Post by r1000 » Sun Jan 17, 2016 4:19 pm

Hi
I was mining corgicoin and found my last block 45 minutes ago. Now I cant mine that coin. Did you uppgrade this corgi to corgi2? If you did, can you get the old corgi back because it is 2 different coins with 2 different chains.

Hi. I am not aware of such a fork; I haven't changed anything with Corgicoin in the past few months. I am looking into this issue right now.

I looked into this and you are right about the fork. We are on the "old" fork. I will be adding the "new" fork as "CorgicoinNew" but won't be discontinuing the "old" one.

The reason there was an issue was because Cryptopia made the dumb decision to change the ticker abbreviation of the "old" Corgicoin market to "CORG-OLD" while making the "new" fork have the ticker "CORG," so our pool was pricing old CORG at the price of the new CORG. I make this change on our system and everything should be correct again.

A note to exchanges - please don't change existing ticker abbreviations to mean a different coin. This just confuses everyone. Create a new abbreviation instead.

I am going to have to discontinue the old Corgicoin at the end of February since the only exchange offering it, Bleutrade, is switching to the new coin. Your payout coins will not automatically be switched, so you will have to switch it manually on that date. I will let you know when I make the change.
