E3 miners update

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:39 pm

I'm pleased to be able to provide an update on the E3 miners issue.

Unfortunately, it turns out that E3 miners are unsupported because they use a different protocol. There are about five different stratum protocols for ethash, and E3s don't use the NiceHash stratum protocol, which we currently support. The E3 protocol is described at https://github.com/sammy007/open-ethere ... STRATUM.md.

Supporting this protocol has some prerequisites that will be satisfied by implementing Monero mining. Therefore, Vance will continue his work on Monero mining, which he's doing now, and which remains on schedule to be available by November. As Christmas approaches, he will work on adding support for E3s.

We apologize for this issue. Other ETH miners can continue mining as normal, and hopefully the E3 firmware will be updated to also support this protocol. If it is not, then we should have support for E3s available within two months.

Hey Steve, any plans to support the stratum required for the E3s? Would be great :)

We've already added support. You should use static coin mining, with "c=," if you end up with a lot of rejected shares.

Let me know how things go!

Update, it did need to be set c= in this case ethereum to stop delivering rejects, weird behavior tho is the auto diff engine not set correctly?

update: Miners reboot every 2-3 hours, all together means a stratum command triggering it.

I'll bring this message to the attention of Vance. However, he's working on adding support for USDC and Tether to the pool, and therefore it could be some time before he is able to address the issue.
