Discussion of development releases of Prohashing / Requests for features
Forum rules
The Development forum is for discussion of development releases of Prohashing and for feedback on the site, requests for features, etc.

While we can't promise we will be able to implement every feature request, we will give them each due consideration and do our best with the resources and staffing we have available.

Good afternoon!
  • There have been a lot of requests for new coins recently, so I wanted to discuss how we're handling the requests. Since many of these coins will be added in the course of our research, we're holding off on reviewing specific coins requested by customers until we have researched all of the coins that are present on stex, exx, and crex24. After those exchanges have been finished, we then have to review the new coins that have been added to the original exchanges since we last reviewed them. That makes for about 1000 coins remaining to review, at a rate of about 20 per hour, for 50 hours of research.
  • Then, Chris will add those coins to the system and make sure that as many as possible can be mined. We'll fix any errors in those coins. Then, we'll review the customer submissions to add payout-only coins that are present in the existing exchanges. Adding mineable coins from new exchanges will happen last, and may not take place until after Christmas.
  • Some customers have offered to help with this process. We're going to look into how they can help and get back to them after the weekend.
  • In other news, we found an issue with the bandwidth throttler where new coins or coins that changed names were not being allocated bandwidth after a block was found. That resulted in higher orphan rates for coins like Bitcoin Cash (formerly Bitcoin ABC.) The error was resolved, the changes deployed, and the orphan rates will revert to normal when the next orphan rate query occurs.
  • Vance is working on E3 support. We expect it to be ready this week.
  • A lot of the new ethash coins from stex are in error. It turns out that these are "proof of stake" ethash coins, where blocks are both worked like ethereum, and staked. Proof of stake coins for other algorithms require a different block format, and we are wondering whether there is a similar issue with these ethash coins. Vance will investigate after E3 support is finished.
  • A problem with high CPU usage for CryptoNight mining has been resolved, and the algorithm is now re-enabled across all servers. Chris will delete the messages from the affected accounts soon.
