Bad account earnings

Post by riomus » Sat May 05, 2018 10:11 am

My account received to big earnings that are not in line with shares (earnings are 10x in comparison to shares). Is there something that I am not understanding correctly? It might be a bug on your side. At average I am earning X USD daily, while for one day i got 10*X USD

The system only stores full earnings data for one in every 200 shares submitted. The shares to be stored are selected at random, but the actual earnings for all shares are stored in aggregate tables. You can see the shares that were selected for saving in the "selected recent shares" table on the "earnings" page.

When share corrections are applied, the only way that we can estimate what was actually earned during the time period is to take the shares actually recorded and multiply by 200. Since the shares are recorded at random, miners who don't submit many shares have a very small chance of having had a lot more shares than average randomly chosen for recording during any given time. To issue the corrections, we then determine what percentage of income is missing overall across the whole pool, and multiply the earnings that were just calculated by that amount. In this case, only about 10% of shares were recorded for a two-hour period during the morning you're referencing due to a bug.

By random chance, you were very lucky to have had many more shares than normal selected for recording during the period of the share corrections. Since the aggregate data for all shares was unavailable, we had no choice but to estimate how much you earned from the number of shares you submitted and multiply that value by 2000.

You stated 200, 200 and then at the end 2000.

Is the difference between 200 and 2000 the reason the OP got 10X payout?
