Zcash and Zclassic payout delays

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Sat Mar 24, 2018 10:59 am

For the next month, we expect payout delays for zcash and its forks. The problem stems from the need for newly found blocks to be sent to a z-address before being able to be paid. This additional step requires four steps for each block. I wrote up a step-by-step guide of what needs to be programmed for automation and was surprised to find that it filled up an entire page. This issue wasn't a problem before because all of our balances were coming from exchanges and did not need to deal with z-addresses at all.

We will assign this task to Vance Vu, our new employee who will be starting on April 9. If we assume that he takes 3 weeks to get to the point where he can make a meaningful contribution, and this task requires additional time, we expect that payouts in these coins will not resume as normal until May.

In the meantime, Chris will attempt to make payouts manually, on a best effort basis. No money will be lost; it may just take several days before he can manually execute the process. If you require faster payouts, we recommend selecting a different coin.
