Poolpicker replacement in development
Unfortunately, poolpicker.eu shut down yesterday. They were a valuable resource for finding which pools are most profitable.
Since pools have already implemented endpoints to obtain data needed to compare profitability, we are already underway creating a replacement. We plan to have it tested and released by the end of the weekend. When finished, we will have a separate page that compares the profitability of all pools in addition to our own, in an interface that looks like PoolPicker's.
If you operate a pool and happen to be reading this message, please post a reply with the link to your profitability statistics, in the JSON format the you provided it to PoolPicker, so that we can add your pool to the list.

That's great! Are you planning to include the profitability data for mining straight LTC? I vote yes, in case that wasn't obvious.
Re: Poolpicker replacement in development
This sounds like a great way to bring more eyes and rigs to the pool. Nice opportunity!

I sent a message to webbson, the owner of Poolpicker, inquiring if he would be willing to allow us to use the name "Poolpicker" and potentially sell the domain "poolpicker.eu" I wonder what he will say.

Re: Poolpicker replacement in development
Chris has entered negotiations to acquire Poolpicker, so this is great news. Perhaps we will be able to resume service just as it was before, with some improvements.
However, if he is not successful, we will still go ahead with this project and produce a replacement under a different brand. I'm going to devote all day tomorrow to working on it, and then Chris will test on Sunday.

It looks like Tom Websson, in his words, "had a change of heart" and decided to continue Poolpicker. We may make a competitor, but it may be difficult to get the URLs for other pools' profitabilities.

Re: Poolpicker replacement in development
After some discussion, we decided to revert our changes to create a new PoolPicker.
While we could surpass the current PoolPicker with the data we have now, we feel the time would be better spent on multiple algorithms, when that time arrives. If PoolPicker decides to close again in the future, we may change our mind.
