Help Diff settings Gridseed Black

Post by KeyWestMiner » Sun Jul 05, 2015 7:09 pm

Hello to everyone new to Prohashing pool after finding very good recommendations in forums.

Problem might be on my end i run a gridseed black 5 blade 25mh with Minera OS on a Pi my issue is i gave it a Diff setting of d=256

But the pool is showing way higher diff for my worker just wondering if my line input of d=256 is proper?

Thanks any help or settings suggestion for the Gridseed Black 25mh machine are welcome to be 100% honest i have been ruining at 256 diff in other pools with very low HW RS so like i said if you have any good info for me im open.

Thanks

Hi,

The reason you're having the issue is that our minimum static share difficulty is 512; anything lower than that will revert to automatic difficulty, which is why you see higher share difficulties than you expect. We had arbitrarily chosen that value to reduce server load when we launched the pool. However, we have since found that the server is nowhere near capacity and can support a lower difficulty but saw no reason to change since we didn't know anyone required it.

I will change share difficulty to a minimum of 256 so that your settings will work. Try connecting your miner again with d=256 and confirm me if it works.

Hey Rootdude you are the reason i came here after reading a ton of your post and checking out the site i registered and tried it.

I just received my Gridseed black 25mh 500 watts bought it for cheap to get back in the game after sleeping on a 3 million plus Dodge coins from about 13 months ago from my GPU mine farm at home which almost burnt down my house .

Looking to get some more MH power my KWH here in Key West is 0.12 US per KW H i know the Gridseed is not the optimum choice but i got it cheap 175 just to get started again. If you have any advice would really help im looking to add 100MH plus but i don't want to burn down the house i want to use by current electrical outlets even if i have to run multiple machines. if you had say 1500 us what would you recommend KNC/Hashra 100MH which is prob never coming or even SHA cloud ? ive been out for 13 months and reading now every night and a lot has happen since i left but i think there is still money to be made. Thanks any advice is welcome . also to the staff at Hashing PRO awesome tech support thanks.
