Unable to connect to pool
Hi,
Is the stratum server down currently? Because I am unable to connect from my rental miners as well as from my home miners.
Any idea on when it will be back up?
Thanks,
Joseph

Re: Unable to connect to pool
This is strange. Everything is running fine but there seems to be a DNS failure. It can't connect to the exchanges because it can't look up names like poloniex.com.
We need to call the ISP. I'll post an update shortly.

Re: Unable to connect to pool
OK, I got the server back online.
The problem was that Poloniex now requires people to use encryption, so http://poloniex.com doesn't work anymore. You need to use https://poloniex.com. This caused a failsafe to trigger the system to shut down because there were no prices, as designed.
Let me know if there are any further issues. I'm also looking into a DNS issue that is hard to reproduce, but the server is running while I investigate.

I noticed that my WestHash rental came back online but the NiceHash rental did not. Maybe that might help you with investigating the DNS issue.Steve Sokolowski wrote:OK, I got the server back online.

Re: Unable to connect to pool
Is there a console where it prints errors in the miner that is not working? Could you post whatever you see here?

Re: Unable to connect to pool
I'm sorry to bother you so much about this issue, but this is helpful in trying to get to the bottom of the problem. I see that someone is connected as MineCoins247 and is receiving work packages for Monacoins. But you said you have two miners, so that doesn't help figure this one out.
I created a new account called "testaccount" (the password is testaccount if you are interested). Could you have that miner connect as user testaccount for a minute and then I can see what happens here?
Again, I apologize for the trouble.

It is not a problem. Yes I have two rentals, one is from Europe and the other is from the US. The US rental is working fine but the Europe one is not. I just connected the miner to the pool as user testaccount about 3 minutes ago. So far it is still showing the miner as not getting a connection from the pool.Steve Sokolowski wrote:I'm sorry to bother you so much about this issue, but this is helpful in trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Ok, I just disconnected the miner as it is showing that it was now working with the testaccount user. Now it seems that it is working. Let me try my real account now.JoeTheMiner wrote:It is not a problem. Yes I have two rentals, one is from Europe and the other is from the US. The US rental is working fine but the Europe one is not.
