Delayed coinbase txns?

Post by kires » Mon Mar 09, 2015 9:10 am

I started mining here a few days ago and according to my stats page, I've had 4 days of payouts processed. I've linked my account here to my coinbase account, but I don't see any records of any txns on CB since I started mining here, and I'm wondering what is up with that? Can you confirm that the payouts have been sent to coinbase?

Hi kires,

The cause seems to be a complex issue in our code regarding Coinbase, and it will take a bit of time time fix. I am going to escalate this to Steve, who will work on it this evening. He or I will get back to you this evening once we have investigated further.

Than-q for looking into the issue for me. I'm glad to at least know that it wasn't just a stupid mistake on my end. :D In the meantime, would it serve any purpose to change my payment config to BTC until this issue is curb-stomped, or would you prefer I leave it as USD to help you guys troubleshoot?

You don't need to change anything. I think we determined the cause and we just need to correct your mature dollar balance, which for some reason is showing -$1200 right now, so that you get paid.

Thanks for your patience. Steve and I have fixed the Coinbase balance and payouts issues. Your entire mature balance will be sent with the rest of the payouts in a few hours from now. I will check in the morning to ensure that all the payouts went through, and if not, I will manually intervene to pay you out.

Thanks for you help with this. I received a btc payout to my coinbase address for a bit over .1 BTC. I hope that's not my total earnings so far, since it's less than a quarter of the earnings recorded below it. Also, the link to my CB account seems to be coming unstuck; I've had to redo it like 3 or 4 times so far, twice this morning alone. ...Clearly, there are dark forces at work.

I fixed this problem and executed the payout. In case you're interested, the problem was that Coinbase does not round. Our payout process for dollar payouts consists of transferring coins to our Coinbase account, then transferring them from our account to yours, and then selling them. Internally, we track all amounts with 24 decimal places, but if you give Coinbase any more than eight decimal places, they throw an exception stating that it was an "invalid amount." The solution was to round to 8 decimal places.

This payout will take six confirmations to be received. In two hours, it will be automatically sold. I'll post again in two hours just to confirm that the entire process worked and the money is in your bank account. For now, don't touch the coins that are being received because otherwise the system will detect there are no funds in your Coinbase account and will never attempt to sell them.
